Hi gang,

After spending the morning sitting by the fire with some coffee,

and making phone calls to several JRI patients who had their

resurfacings done 2001 or before, I am beginning to feel that it is

for real. They are all doing well! And they were all very gracious

with their time. Dr. Amstutz has a tremendous reputation. I met him

last wednesday, and I'm now just waiting for insurance approval.

Either way, payed for by insurance or not, I'm hoping for late

April. They tell me it shouldn't be a problem because of the way

they code things. This F#@$ing hip has hurt me for 35 years, since I

was 9 years old, and I've hung in there waiting for technology. It

all seems too good to be true right now..

I could have missed it all!!! My doctor's have always

maintained that what I needed was a THR, even though they HAD too be

aware of resurfacing. If a friendly stranger hadn;t been

evesdropping on a conversation of mine, and had the nerve to share

his experiences with Dr. DE Smet with me, I would be scheduling a

THR right now. So this all just feels like it's meant to be.

I want you all to know how much I appreciate all youv'e done

for me. Whether I go to JRI or fly to Belgium, at this point is

irrelevant. This experience has done so much to restore my faith in

humanity. All of you, Dr. Steve, Drew, Donna, Judy, Bucky, ,

even the good Dr. DE Smet himself, I thank you all for your support

and kindness. and don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I feel at

home here.

Allrighty then.....let's have a big group hug!!!

Chris
