Just wanted to remind you all about the Foundation Training day which is

coming

up in a couple of weeks time.

Bookings are going well but we are still able to take more!!!

It would be good to see at least a couple of people from each branch in

Areas B, C and D - a car full would be even better!!!

Foundation Training Day for all branch workers

9.45am - 4pm

Saturday 12 May 2001 - Jigsaw Nursery, Harlow, Essex

AM - Choose between

Foundation Training Module 1 - Understanding the NCT: This is designed to

give all branch volunteers first hand knowledge about the NCT; its

achievements, history and mission as well as future plans. It includes

information and discussion about how the NCT is organised and funded and how

to promote the NCT. This workshop will run in the a.m. and p.m.

OR

Foundation Training Module 3. Working with People : This module focuses on

three key aspects of working with volunteers - communication, motivation and

managing conflict. Through group work and handouts participants will

explore implications of these three areas, problems associated with them and

useful way of dealing with them.

Lunch - included in the cost of the day

PM - Choose between

Foundation Training Module 2. Listening to People: Much of our work involves

contact with people at meetings, face to face and on the telephone. This

module seeks to identify what good listening involves and its benefits. It

also demonstrates useful physical and verbal responses.

OR

Foundation Training Module 4. It's Membership that makes the Difference :

This module aims to increase awareness of the need for members and to

maintain the work of the NCT.

It is advisable to have completed Foundation Training Module 1 before doing

any of

the following, but Modules 2, 3, and 4 can be done in any order.

Please remember that when attending a Region day it is possible to claim the

cost of the day and your travel expenses from your branch.

Cost £5 per delegate, including lunch.

Crèche : £3 for 1st child in a family, £2 for subsequent children
