They are prescription pills, the doctor prescribed them. They are large, I think

I had to take about 4 or 5 every half hour with a glass of water, total of 30

maybe, my mind is shot, sorry. That was after not eating that day too, but you

can have lots of liquids. Nope, no disgusting white stuff. Suddenly you get

cleaned out maybe two times then have nothing but water for about 2 hours, it

wasnt so bad, the worse thing was not having coffee the next morning before the

colonoscopy. ~Dianna

I took the pills to clean out for the colonoscopy, it was great and easy.

people go to sleep with it and don't even know they had a colonoscopy. I

watch mine on the monitor and talk to the Dr while he is doing it:)

With the CT scan you also need to drink some stuff which is not a laxative

and have a IV with the dye.

A Pet scan you are given radioactive stuff through a IV and have to sit for

it to go through your system then spend a hour getting scanned inside a

tube. The CT is more expensive then the colonoscopy and the PET Scan is

extremely expensive and I doubt any insurance company would pay for it

without a good reason. They probably would not pay for a CT without a good

reason. I personally feel the best way to detect colon cancer or to prevent

it by removing any polyps found is with the colonoscopy. They have a better

view of your colon then anything else. With your CT or PET scan they would

not be able to remove any polyps which could be cancer or precancer. If they

find any and remove it you won't feel a thing or maybe a slight pinch. The

thought of having it done is worse then the actual procedure. Please get one

done ASAP. I really did not have any symptoms except occasional constipation

I was not even mentioning to my Dr. Thankfully one day I casually mentioned

it and a colonosopy was

ordered. It saved my life as it caught it at stage 2. I have been scared

silly of all these tests but now had them all I worried for nothing.

A question please.

Why does one have a colonoscopy and have to drink the awful solution.

Would it be appropriate to have a PET and/or CT scan which is a lot less

painful. However, I do want to do what is best to determine if there is a

cancer. Also, would blood work show the cancer.

Thank you - Bonnie

BONNIE,

PLEASE DRINK THE LIQUID AND HAVE THE TEST. I PROLONGED IT TOO AND IF I WOULD

HAVE HAD IT DONE, PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE HERE NOW TALKING TO YOU. BECAUSE I WOULD

HAVE WENT IN TIME TO HAVE IT REMOVED DURING THE COLONOSCOPY INSTEAD OF HAVING

CANCER LIKE I DO NOW. TRUST ME, THERE IS NOTHING TO IT. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I

HAD IT DONE, WAS OUT LIKE A LIGHT. FROM WHAT I KNOW ABOUT PET AND CT SCANS,

THEY DON'T SHOW UP A LOT, NOT LIKE COLONOSCOPY DOES. AS FOR BLOOD WORK, IT

DOESN'T ALWAYS SHOW UP CANCER EITHER. SO DO THE COLONOSCOPY, THAT'S YOUR BEST

BET !

I wondered about that Jolene. The last one I had they were going to inject

something I assume dye of some kind in my rectum. I wondered what would happen

if they did:) I know in the hospital after surgery they tried it but it all came

back out on the floor. Just the liquid they tried to put in. I have this

narrowing or striture and can't have a colonoscopy because they can't get in to

do one. I told them at the CT scan I did not think putting fluid in the recturm

was good idea and when I explained to them they agreed. Dr had said it would

show colon better. Geez I am glad it did not work:)

Rivka

She is 32. I have been going thru this with her for 14 yrs now. No

problems till she was 18. Prior to that a perfect, beautiful, young woman.

Then at

18 she deicded she was no longer " under my thumb " and could do whatever she

pleased whenever she pleased ad ir I stood in her way, I felt her wrath.

She spent 4 years (during college), when home kicking in doors, hitting me,

raging, breaking MY things (never her things), and showing no sense or

remorse. Has told me I got what I deserved when I asked her why she behave

this

way.

After college, literally befriended ghetto people, produced 2 beautiful

children (my grandsons). Says she was abused by their father and then she

dumped

him and appeared to go back to " normal " for 4 years. One and !/2 yrs ago

hooked up with another convict( she met him during her internship in college in

Juvenile Probation). He was serving time for armed robbery, is 7 years her

junior. He got out last year and she ran off and married him a yr ago this

past May. At end of June, she had him arrested for domesticc violence ( said

he hit her, but no ,marks on her, later said she did it because she was mad

at him). He served a yr. She was pregnant with his child, a girl, born this

past Feb. He got out prior to baby's birth on " good " behavior. He locked

my little grandsons in their rooms and I had him arrested. Police found there

was a No Contact order that she and he were violating and he was sent back

to jail till this August. She, now mad at me, wouldn't let me see my

grandsons and I went to court for visitation.

I know she is using fraudulent credit cards, used my aunt's soc sec # fore

her own utilities, ran up the bills and now won't pay them. Owns her own

house that I helped her buy when she was normal, but isn't working because she

won't let hubby out of her sight. So neither of them work. She is pulling

cash advances off these credit cards to paynher bills. Has also used the

children's soc sec #s to get credit in their names. She gets welfare when she

shouldn't be and God only knows what else she is doing these days. She lives

like a queen and is constantly buying new things.

She and I went to counseling in June where she told me she wants no

relationship with me at all. My present therapist who seems sane says he feels

she

is Narcissistic not BP but may have BP traits. Has never cut, been depressed

unless she is out of money, never tried suicide. Has huge sense of

entitlement. Was horribly spoiled (by me) as a child. I reinforced in her

that SHE

could do no wrong. She was always so perfect, how could SHE ever be the one

at fault???!!!!!!!!!!!!

And this is the monster I created. Sociopath, Naricissist, Borderline? I

don't know. But I do know, I don't like what she is.

Rivka,

We have a lot of common ground here.

I learned about BPD in 2000. At that time I searched

on the internet and saw the articles claiming a few

percent or so of the population had 5 of the DSM 9.

I did my own unscientific and biased count and

estimated BPD at 10%. I thought I was paranoid of BPD

back then.

Five years later I think 1/4 of the population has

significant traits of...or actually has an axis 2

disorder.

Mine is hearing my son say he hates me...not seeing

him since June...seeing him once or twice a year...I'm

My wife, me and my yougest daughter...A quiet peaceful

My x is angrier with me than when we divorced...now my

son is just as angry...its still all my fault.

Love to you and yours too.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! DON'T!!!!!!!

I know you did this with the best intentions but please DON'T!! Every

one of the dozens and dozens of these I have ever seen is utter crap and

a hoax and that even includes things like sob stories about kids with

cancer and kids who have gone missing. In this case see

http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/invitation.asp but, and this

applies to EVERYBODY, ALWAYS check one of the hoax sites like

snopes.com or hoaxbusters.com before even thinking about sending one of

these crap emails on.

Why? All you are doing is ensuring people will end up receiving even

more spam. These type of emails are typically started by spammers

because they know lots of people will be sucked into sending them on and

on and on. Sooner or later someone will send it back to them and

typically by then it will have lots and lots of nice JUICY email

addresses for them to add to their list and presto - everybody gets even

more spam. Fortunately you were thoughtful/clever enough to delete off

all the previous addresses which were probably on the copy you received,

so even if anybody else sends it on without bothering to check its

validity you won't be guilty of adding their names to a spammer's list.

Unfortunately you will be guilty of adding , Bob and Dolores

unless the person who sends it also thinks to delete their names.

A good habit to get into when sending jokes or any other emails that are

likely to be forwarded and re-forwarded is to always use Bcc (blind

copy) to address your recipients. That way even when such emails end up

at spammers again as they inevitably will, all your friends' email

addresses won't end up being added to any spammers' lists because they

are hidden.

Personally as a man, I like the sheer black outfits. I think they are not

only really classy, but the sexiest things I have ever seen.

  • 1 year later...

In October I was doing well on 27.5 HC, then I went off the HC and

cannot make progress at all. My temps before I get up are around 98.0

and they rise to above 98.4 in no time. I'm doing 15;15;10;5.

I'm trying to lower this as this may be my problem. How do I know I

need Medrol?

I can't lose a pound. 2 armour plus 100 cytomel. Bloated belly more

than any other area. Temps are pretty steady and around 98.4 average

throughout the day. I plan to lower the HC again tomorrow to

15;10;10;5. But I'm worried as maybe I'm going the wrong way and should

consider medrol instead.

I have big fatigue but sweating alot during exercise.

I'd been on T3 only for about 8 months and since I've been back to

armour, things have gotten worse. Also taking B12, mag, zinc, VitD.

You r suymptoms ALL sound liek high cortisol to me. but it will take

some time for them to abate. The inability to lose weight is BOTH high

cortils and low thyroid. BUT the thyroid may be gettign sopped up by the

high cortilsl, so I would work on lowering the cortils as you lower T3.

Lowering the T3 will help oyu be bale to lower the cortiosl,. I am in

the process of switching back to Armour form T3 myself and it is going

well, but I had ot lower T3 MUCH fatser than I thought I would. I would

suggest lowering T3 by 25mg with this lower HC dosing and just keep an

eye on BP. Sitting ot standing.

Thanks so much. Would you add PS in addition?

Would that help or complicate?
