Guest guest
I'm so sorry - I haven't had time to read the list over the last few days, but is it too late for me to welcome you now? I'm sure that your introduction is somewhere in the 2000+ emails that have collected in my inbox in the last few days :-( This group usually is pretty good about support, but I'm sure with the holidays and everything, lots of people are away from their computers. Did I read correctly that you are from TX? I'm from Tennessee, so at least we're kinda from the same area of the country . You sound like you have your share of stuff going on with you - what type of treatments are you getting? I've got fibro, degenerative disc disease, a spinal injury, osteoarthritis, possible CFS (the doctor's reading up on it so she can make a dx ), several ruptured disks in both my neck and lower back - I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that should give you an idea . I go to a wonderful pain specialist who sent me to physical therapy for 3 months (I just finished my last appt yesterday), gives me VERY effective epidurals whenever I need them (I've had two in the last month and am scheduled for another next week), and prescribes my all pain medications, anti-spasmodics, osteoarthritis meds, anti-depressants, etc. After being on no medications and completely bedridden for almost 7 years, 4 months of treatment at the pain clinic has given me my life back. I'm almost completely mobile again, can do housework, cook, drive, and am actually considering asking my doctor for a work release in a few months when my meds are all titrated to see if I can go back to work after 12 years of being unable to work because of my fibro!! I feel very lucky to have done this well in treatment, but I was actually lucky in finding a good doctor. He isn't afraid to treat my pain very aggressively and give me the medication that I need to treat my pain (and he LISTENS to me when I tell him what hurts and how much!). I hope that you do find the support that you need here and soon find the same kind of relief that I have found!! A belated, but very heartfelt welcome to you !! - At 08:33 PM 12/29/01 EST, you wrote: >Hello everyone, > >I joined this group because I thought it was supposed to be a support group >for those of us with FM/CFS.
