Jace & I got married at the county courthouse. We had always planned on "someday" having a church wedding. As the years passed, we had hoped to finally have that wedding on our 25th anniversary. That was last July 3rd. After all the problems, health & financial, there was no way we could afford it.

So.....our daughter, some special friends & a few other family members decided our special day would not go unnoticed!

We had a big party/cook-out with a crowd of family & friends. Our oldest daughter made us this wedding cake (it was so hot you can see the icing melt!).

We had a blast, the kids & grandkids all loved it. And it was a special memory that we will always have. May not have been what we had hoped for, but turned out to be really great. And it was the first time we managed to get all of my family & his together! It meant so much to me to do something special now since we don't know how fast his PD/possible Alzheimer's might progress. I cherish every day now.

Part of me would still like to have that wedding someday. Maybe the 50th?!?! LOL I can always hope!

This isn't one of our best pictures after being out in that heat all day. lol

Might be.... or it could be that I'm as crazy about him now as I was almost 28 yrs. ago when we first met! Hmmmm... I don't know which.
