Oh my! Sounds like a clerical error - but there are stories of people waiting a

long time for treatment in England.

I met a man in England who was having terrible problems with his leg - from

diabetes. He was facing loosing his leg. He was put on a waiting list to see a

specialist - in a year and a half!!! He ended up selling his house so he could

go to a private dr.

Or, my friend who, after a long time, finally found out that she had a tumor on

her pituitary gland, and was put on a waiting list to see a specialist in

Scotland - in 2 years!

She luckly had insurance and got to a specialist right away and had the tumor

removed. She's doing much better now, but she was litteraly dying before our

eyes.

I must say, though, that when they suspected having an infection in her

ankle, they admitted her right away to the hospital, prepped her for surgery the

next day, and treated her excellent. Turned out she didn't need surgery. She

had tendonitis, they said. Casted her leg, and put her on bed rest for 2 weeks.

Another friend was cured of breast cancer. And, a very good friend was saved

from being a parapalegic when he broke his back on his trampoline.

Neither the British doctors nor the American doctors could save another friend

from skin cancer. He died in about 3 months after being dx'd. He went back and

forth during that time. Nothing could help him.

I suppose you could find a lot of horror stories about awful treatment here too.

Like the cancer patients involved in a study at Fred Hutchinson's and not being

told about the chance of dying - and they all died except for one or two.

So scary.
