To answer all the questions at once. :)

When I did BFL, I did not know I had FMS, and I think

that might have been a plus. I did the weight

workouts and the aerobic ones, just as they suggested.

I did ache, alot. But I ignored it because I figured

it was due to the extreme workouts and not to anything

else. I myself did not do any low-impact. I did

either step or tae-bo. It was very, very hard to get

through the workouts. It hurt while I was doing the

weights, especially in my arms, but again, like I

said, I didn't know anything was wrong, so I kept

going, just thinking I was a 'wimp'.

I would not do it again, knowing what I now know. I

didn't feel horrible afterwards, well no more horrible

than I had felt prior. It was only during that it was

hard.

As far as alternative excersises, I don't know. I

myself am now trying to find excersise that I can do.

My dr. suggested swimming, although my lifestyle does

not allow it, so he suggested walking. I would not

recommend anything else, especially if you have tried

it and it hurt. As far as low impact, I'm not sure

about that. But I do have the book (somewhere) I'll

take a look and see what he has to say, and I'll get

back to you guys.

I do belive BFL is geared toward 'normals'. Even the

eating program may not be advisable for fibros.

Although, I have not read up on the nutritional aspect

of fibro yet.

The book says that low impact does not do any good (more good than nothing, but

not efficient) but I don't agree with this statement. It seems that every diet,

or way of life\eating, makes the same claims, and they all work for different

people. I think body for life is very great, for someone that can stick with

the intensity though, and really think it is a great program. I feel that low

impact aerobics (definitely gets your heart rate up, just not as " jarring " on

the knees and ankles) is working for me right now, and it's what I can do.

I do feel a great need to go back to low carb though. My blood sugar readings

are starting to get a little higher (125-150 after eating a " carby " meal-not too

bad, but consistently getting higher), and I can " feel " this (dry mouth, thirsty

after drinking tons of water, going to the bathroom a lot), so if I want to

avoid more oral med, and insulin shots, I am going to have to go low carb. It

is just soooooooooooo hard for me to do. I hate being on a low carb diet and

can do it, but it is kicking and screaming.

Sincerely, Pamela Rauch
