Bar length measuring question

I finally got Christiopher back in his DBB and he's not really fussing very

much...at least at the moment. I put his shoes on first and then attached

the bar. He'd start screaming and crying while when I started to put the

second shoe on, so I tried measuring the distance that his heels were while

in the bar and the distance between his shoulders. Far as I can tell, the

bar was too short, so I lengthened it a little and he seems fine now.

I make a scratch on the bar below the back of his heels and measured the

distance between the two, and then measured the distance between the

outsides of his shoulders. I don't think I have the bar the same distance,

but it's close. Is this the right way to do the measurements...and do both

measurements have to be the same for him to be comfortable or is close okay?

He obviously can't tell me what the problem is yet, so I want to make sure I

get the bar as comfortable as I can.

Thanks!
