I've been back on the web trying to locate the mumsnet website that has all

centers all over the US, but I'm not finding it right now. Moria, can you

help?

That's how we located our nearest center. Most centers cost about

$100 -$125 per treatment (40 in one session) but some with a doctor on staff

charge $200.

Yes, about $4000-$5000 in total, plus, of course, your lodging and meals.

Some people do one treatment a day, 5 or 6 days a week, some 2. My son

could only tolerate about 6 treatments a week, but many of the other kids

did more.

Depending on your child's situation, some kids do another session 6 months

to 1 yr. later. Another option is doing 20, then 20 more 6 months later,

after the first 40 are done. I have heard of people with severe CP doing 3

or 4 sessions.

So then, does one " session " consists of 40 treatments at $100-125 each

treatment or $4000-$5000 in total?

How often can the treatments be done?

We looked for a place with a multiperson chamber, more like a small airplane

cabin. My son did alright, with the help of some herbal relaxants, his

favorite magazines, and old movies. Each treatment takes about an hour.

Actually, it's suprising how quickly the kids seem to get used to it.

If I could have done it when my child was younger, I definitely would have.

Our thought on timing was after quite a bit of chelation was done, to

jumpstart and reoxygenize the liberated brain cells. We have four years in,

three and a half when we did the HBOT.

We found a place within driving distance, so we could go home on weekends.

They had a special deal with the next door hotel, but you moms with little

ones could probably use a Mc house.

Yes, it was a lot of time, but family members took turns coming and being

with us. I would do it again in a heartbeat, because of the gains Craig

made!

I looked up a HBOT website and I wondered how you getthe kids to stay inside

the " tube " without freaking out. Or do they just freak out and the

treatment goes on just like blood sticks, B12 shots, baths and haircuts?

How long is a session?

If a session is 40 treatments at 5 per week, that's an eight week course.

If a child tolerates two sessions per day, then it would be a four week

course. And if you need to be out of town for it, then the child can't be

in a program for either one or two months. YIKES!

OK- one more question (for now). At what point in chelation do you do HBOT?

Is it after most of the metals have been removed as a jumpstart to body

processes that were dormant for a long time? Or is it done before that

point to aid in the detox pathway?

Thank you so much for your patience and help.

Sorry to say this, but I've also heard of some CP kids who

have done MANY session of 40 treatments. I think it is one

of those things where if it helps, then you do all you can to

come up with the money. The cost is frightening!

Oh, I also meant to mention this list:

neurohbot/

Largely Cerebral Palsy focus and sometimes has pretty

nasty politics.

usually an hour, I think. Also try asking this on the

HBOT list I sent info on yesterday--- many people there

use HBOT and can tell you more from experience.

yeah, yikes. Unless you live someplace where there is a

clinic close by...

Andy's thinking about it (which I've asked about in some

detail, since I'm very interested in BOTH therapies) is

that you do HBOT *after* chelation. The reason is that

both being mercury toxic and HBOT cause oxidative stress,

so if you have both happening at once, the HBOT adds to

the same SORT of stress as the mercury is causing, which

can be " bad " .

Yes, I did. Some of the kids eventually go in with just the center person,

but my son was older (and bigger) and I think they felt more comfortable

having me there. My hubby and kids took turns when they were there.

Did you notice any results of the HBOT for you? How did it feel? The

center closest to me, an hour away, requires a parent to go in with the

child. I just had thirteen or so amalgams removed, so I'm going to have to

wait a while and chelate myself before I go.

Hello ,

Here is a link to a post where I wrote a very detailed

account of what mild HBOT felt like to me. Please note

that this is an account of ONE session, and NO ONE (that

I know of) considers this a " theraputic " amount of HBOT.

Usually people do 40 treatments in a series, and then

often they do addition series.

NeuroHBOT/message/6176

good wishes,

Moria
