Guest guest
Well Bonnie, you were right!!!!! has TMJ. ------------ OK - I finally found my copy of Gach a few minutes ago. Go to pages 143-146. You will see the points Gach uses for TMJ/Jaw problems. In addition, take a look at page 229. I am going to use page 229 to reference some additional points. There is a specific release pattern used in Jin Shin Do Acupressure for TMJ. In fact, it is called a TMJ Release. I am just going to type it out. You do one side of the face first, then the other, starting with the side that is the most painful. I am going to write it based on doing the right side first. Just reverse everything (hand positions) for the left side. LH means left hand;RH means right hand. In the sequence, you start with the left hand in the one spot and then go squentially with the right hand from point to point, leaving the left hand on the same spot. When there is a space between sections, change hand positions accordingly. The first numbers shown are the Jin Shin Do numbers or point name. The numbers in parens are the standard Chinese numbers. You can use Gach and the standard numbers for tracking locations. LH - Jaw Point (ST 6) RH - 22 (GB 20) RH - 2 (ST 3) RH - Temple Point (ST 8) RH - 35 (LI 4) LH - Tragus Point (SI 19) RH - 21; S1 (SI 16) (on the posterior border of the sternocleido- mastoid muscle, about three-and-a-half body inches lateral to the thyroid cartilage) LH - 2; S1 (SI 18) (located directly down from the outside of the eye, in the depression below the arch of the cheekbone) RH - SI Source (SI 4) LH - 21; TW (TW 16) (on the posterior border of the sternocleido- mastoid muscle at the level of the jaw) RH - 26 (TW 5) RH - TW Source (TW 4) As with any of this release work, hold the points until you feel an energetic balance. If you can't actually feel the energy yet then just hold the points for about two minutes, but at least for one full minute minimum. Let me know if you need any additional help finding the points. I have personally used this release for TMJ treatment on two different people and got good results both times.
