Guest guest
Okay, I have yet another stupid question to add to my ever so long list! You must really despair of me when I get into one of my " curious " moods like this, hee-hee! Anyway, what I'm wondering about is whether anyone else here or their kids have had issues with crawling as a baby at all. I was talking with my parents the other night and somehow the conversation got to when I was a baby. Rather interesting they both said that I could not crawl properly and never actually did. To get around I would either scramble backwards or sit upright with my legs splayed out at the hips then bent in at the knee (kind of like the lotus position) and do a sort of frog bounce across the carpet!! Gosh, I must have given my parents and guest hours of free entertainment with that particular party trick! So I got to thinking, could my strange crawling and hopping have been to do with my EDS at all? I was wondering if my inability to crawl properly was from my joints and muscles being weak or painful? I am also wondering whether the fact I was born with shallow hip sockets and dislocating hips contributed to my comfort and ease in the lotus position and frog hop movement? I had never really considered it until now, but perhaps the EDS/Marfan and my various skeletal deformities were already playing a part in my development. It's just another strange curiosity of mine but I thought it was worth asking to see if anyone else here had a strange crawling or childhood movement issue. Thank for listening and allowing me to have my stupid question moment again! Love and hugs....Jo xxx
