Guest guest
Cyndee, congratulations on your adoption. How old is the baby? Before considering surgery you might want to consider the Ponseti method. They have success in correcting clubfeet without surgery even in older children. Our dd had severe bilateral clubfeet, we live in Ohio and considered Drs. at Riley children's hospital in Indianapolis, we corresponded with Dr. Keyes (maybe) but we were not happy with the responses we got so we decided to go to Iowa to see Dr. Ponseti. We flew Angel Flights from our town to IN to Iowa. It was very quick. Our daughter had 4 casts and a tentomy and is completly corrected. There are no scars and her feet are functioning better than most kids who have had surgery and she has no pain. Please look into this option. I don't know of any doctors in IN. but it would definately be worth it to consider going to Iowa. Although it seems like a lot of travel, children who have surgery have to have repeated surgeries and still experience pain as an adult due to the scar tissue. Thanks, Joanne PS sorry if others have already replied, I haven't read all of my emails.
