Guest guest
Dear Gwenna . . . . you made me laugh when you wrote you've been " lurking " for about a month. Sounded like a line out of a Pink Panther movie. Glad you've joined in and have decided to " come out " and enjoy this group. I've only been around since March but I've found much encouragement and lots and lots of knowledge from this group. Fun, too. Good you finally were able to receive disability which, I;m sure, gave you a sense of relief knowing you have an income even though it's not huge. I have a daughter who is a kidney/pancreas transplant patient who was blind for 4 years before she received her transplant. She applied for disability (she was living in the State of Wash at the time) using her cane and the guy taking the information accused her of faking. It took several visits before she got the disability. She's a really feisty person but she felt so bad at that time with her vision gone and her kidneys failing, she didn't have her usual fight. Now she knows the beaurocratic ropes better and takes nothing from anyone. I'm proud of her. She just turned 39 and is on her second kidney. The first one lasted 3 years. Her sight has been restored too. Talk about the good and the bad. Sometimes if a person just hangs in there, something good will pop up. Lots of love, C.
