Minimally invasive Surgery (MIS)

I am a reasonably young, active female who had Perthes as a kid. I am a suitable

candidate for hip resurfacing and was all set for this when I started finding

out about the new procedure (MIS ) also known as the 'Two Incision Procedure'

where the muscles are moved aside as, guided by X-Ray, the OS completes the

resurfacing procedure. The result of this new method is less damage, less pain,

smaller scars and patients get up walking the next day and leave hospital in 2

days. I have read a number of reports by people having THR with this method but

although I know of several OS in the UK who have used it for hip resurfacing, I

have not seen an account of the experience from a patient. Has anyone reading

this got any information to offer. Thanx Sue
