Guest guest
We saw Dr. Ponseti yesterday and, as always, he was a sweetie! He felt very badly about having to recast Olivia, but again stressed to us how important the brace wear was and that Olivia would likely be wearing it until past age 4. That was fine with us! As I said before, Livie hasn't worn her brace in just over a year. Dr. Morcuende also looked at her foot and told us that it was a good indicator that she would not have another relapse because it was still relatively flexible after a year out of the brace. Livie is sporting a pretty purple cast or as she calls it her " hebby purple sock " . She's adjusting well and is already hobbling around on her own! Dr. Ponseti thinks she will only need one more cast and possibly another tenotomy in two weeks. We got new shoes for her brace and I was pleased with some of the additions to the Markell shoes. Livie never had a problem with the old shoes, but we were happy to see the added padding on the tongue. We met a very nice couple from Cincinnati that had a new style brace on their baby. It was way cool! Looked much more comfortable for the baby than the Markell shoes. We are heading back home tomorrow and I will fly out with Olivia again in two weeks for her cast change. Hope this finds everyone well! Jen & Livie
