I couldn't help but see your creatinine, it's high. Did your doctor says anything about that? Your cholesterol is not bad at all. For years, due to the fact that I was loosing so much protein, my cholesterol levels were over 400. There was nothing much I could do about that. I tried some medication for it, but wind up with pancreas problems. Now with the chemo, my kidneys are functioning better, and I am loosing less protein. My cholesterol is just fine. Still, please let me know about your kidneys. Mojo DOCTORS, DOCTORS, AND MORE DOCTORS.... Greetings Fellow Lupies, I just got back from my follow up visit with my Primary Care Doc...... Last Tuesday I went in for Labs for the new Rheumy that I 'm trying to get an appt. with.......and also for this rash that just keep recurring......It's not the typical Lupus rash.......He thinks it's being caused by one or more of my medications . The Labs showed that my Thyroid is a little low.....TSH is 6.5......limits are.0.35 _ 5.5, so he has increased my Thyroid med. from 75mcg. per day to 88mcg.......and I have been taking Levoxyl, which is the generic Thyroid.......He gave me a months supply of Synthroid samples. I asked for a copy of my labs.this time......and am sitting here trying to understand what it all means. I'm just reading the parts typed in BOLD......and the ones that he underlined and tried to explain to me. My BUN is 35.......My Creatinine is 2.7.......My total Cholesterol is 220.......Triglycerides 183......HDL Cholesterol is 95.......and LDL Cholesterol is 88. He explained that even though my bad cholesterol is high , and my triglycerides are high......the fact that my good Cholesterol is so good that It cancels out my Bad cholesterol......but he said I should not eat "so many cheeseburgers" ( which I don't even eat!) My white blood cell count is 11.0......My red blood cell count is 4.20.....so I'm not anemic. He said that there is no sign of a Lupus Flare.........so he then set about juggling my meds. around to see if we can find out which one or more might be causing this recurring this rash. He has decreased my Blood Pressure medication.......with me coming back in for a blood pressure check in a week......He has decreased my Plaquenil from 200 mg. twice a day.....to 200mg. once a day......And tomorrow I'm going to start on 20mg. of prednisone instead of the 30mg. a day I've been on for a week for the rash.......which is still there, by the way ....but is better than it was last week at this time. The Only other med. he suspects is my antidepressant ........and I said ,"Don't you Dare!" He just laughed, and said ," I'd be afraid to mess with YOUR sanity, Young Lady !!"........He's so sweet.....He looks like he's about 12 years old......and I'm 60 .....and look every bit of it and he Calls ME .....`YOUNG LADY ' all the time, and always compliments me on my Hats. Now I have my appt. with my Opthalmologist to look forward to on the 23rd for a pressure check for my Glaucoma........so that's going to be 5 doctors visits this month by the time its all over....... .....Sure I've got a money tree on my teeny little patio! ..
