Guest guest
Hi and Christian! Welcome! Our daughter was born with a unilateral clubfoot on Feb 22nd. She has been treated with the Ponseti Method and had a series of 5 casts starting at 8 days old. They were changed weekly and she had her tendon release on April 8th (tenotomy). She then had a cast for 3 weeks and then the Foot Abduction Brace (FAB) for 23 hours/day for 3 months. She just had her hour reduced yesterday, until she crawls, to 18 hours/day. She has done really well every step of the way and will wear the brace for about 3 years total, but when the children start to walk they only wear the brace at night time. How is your son being treated? Louisa and Zoe 2-22-04 Unilateral Right Clubfoot > Hello, > > My name is . My son, Christian, was born on January 30th with > unilateral club foot. Guest guest
Hello and congratulations on your son! On this site we are mostly using the Ponseti Method (or trying to convince others to use the Ponseti Method! haha). I highly recommend it. If you need information, you're at the right place! Ask away! s. I am a new member Hello, My name is . My son, Christian, was born on January 30th with unilateral club foot. I didn't know this group existed but I am glad I found out about it. Guest guest
I have a question here: Everett is wearing the DBB 16-18 hours right now and is crawling. He's a week a way from 10 months old. Is this the point where the hours are generally reduced again? We were due for a check up in June but due to finances we couldn't make the trip (I know, bad momma). I'm not going to reduce or anything until I see the dr again but was just curious what I might have to look forward to when we get there (hopefully in a few weeks). They did say they would reduce the outward angle of the foot at the next appointment, it's still at the maximum extension. s. Re: I am a new member Hi and Christian! Welcome!
