will RBC metals test for mercury be elevated during chelation?

During chelation, since redistribution is to be expected--as the

chelating agent releases its mercury, could one expect to find

elevated RBC mercury?

My son had the metametrix blood elements test (checks for minerals

and some heavy metals) done one or two days after a round and mercury

was not detected.

As someone who uses that test often, it is should not be used to measure

mercury levels. It is far more valuable to look at rbc magnesium, zinc and

other essential minerals. It is helpful if the heavy metals are high but

mean little or nothing if low.

Typically Hg is not elevated. The merits of the test are as Mark

says, to check zinc, molybdenum, selenium and magnesium.

If you do see a high (as in red range really elevated) toxic it is

significant, but this is uncommon.

Typically someone with mercury will have low Zinc, low Magnesium,

somewhat high but not red range high Copper, sometimes low

Molybdenum. Selenium can be anywhere and is worth knowing, low is

by far the most common though. If you DON'T see something that

looks like this early on you should think about whether the problem

really is mercury.
