I, too, would love to hear how soon you can start swinging the club as golf is

my passion also (although only a one hcp and not professional) and am to have

resurfacing on March 8th in Vancouver ,WA with Dr Ed Sparling.

I had a lhr in October of 2003, so by the time I was steady on my

feet the winter had set in here, but I have hit a few balls at an all

season driving range and I can tell you that things are mighty

different.

I am going to have to learn to swing from scratch. I had become

increasingly right sided in order to avoid putting weight on the left

hip. For a right sided golfer, this means short swings and no weight

transfer which equals weak slices. Now I can easily put my full

weight on my left side.

Also, my ability to turn my trunk had deteriorated significantly in

terms of range of motion and steadiness as the hip worsened over

time. This has improved a great deal.

Now I feel like I have a fighting chance to be more consistent, and

to enjoy golf more, thanks to the miracle of hip resurfacing. Ian

P.S. I happened to catch a little of a senior tournament broadcast

from Hawaii las night and I watched Jack Nicklaus closely because of

his recent ceramic THR. Looks to me like he's got a slight limp.

Leg length differential? I have no firm evidence, just speculation,

but he played quite well.
