Guest guest
with a seventeen year old they just get put on antipsychotics and like and consigned to some nearby dustbin u have to keep well way from anything that smacks of pyschiatry or social servies. biomed is mistaken thinking, what is most appropriate is for the parents and 17 year old to spend time on this message baord but they never seem to want to. i can tell you seeing the teenage as on irc on the net you might as well give up. they want to be on meds or pot and made attention of that way and are all pro vaccine and deny mercury toxicity and any discussion of supplements makes them extremely irritated. > Dear Listmates, > > A friend of my mom's has a 17 year-old son who was just diagnosed with autism. She is asking for resources. Since is only 7, I wanted to ask people with older kids for resources they have found helpful. So far, I have come up with this list: > Dana's site as a good overview of the biomed issues > Houston Enzymes > Hair testing for metals > Contact Regional Center for their resources (school, jobs, social) > > If people have any information re: social/educational/job/general information sites, that would round things out and give her a place to start. I KNOW I am leaving a lot of things out...I'm not even thinking like a mom of a typical teenager yet!!!! > > Thanks in advance for your help > > , mom to and > > >
Guest guest
Did he regress recently from a vaccine or other exposure or have issues for a while and just get diagnosed? Depending upon the circumstances, I would suggest " What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Childhood Vaccines " by Cave, M.D., " Dancing in the Rain " by Anabel Stehli, " Pretending to Be Normal " by Liane Halliday (I think that's her name), " There's a Boy in Here " by Judy and Barron, " Thinking in Pictures " by Temple Grandi and " SonRise " by Barry Neil Kaufmann for starters... Have they contacted the local CARD center? I don't know if that is nationwide or just in Florida. Just in case it is only here, try www.ucf-card.org . It may lead you to local leads. Guest guest
That is so incredibly sad. I won't parade my son around, but it's funny the only people who convert to research approaches of intervention, like enzymes, probiotics, investigating the problem, not how to cover it up, are parents who have seen my son, both at age 2 when we were in the middle of it, and now, when if I didn't tell you his diagnosis you'd never know. So sad. Guest guest
Thank you, everyone, for your replies. My gosh, I hadn't even thought it might be a vaccine regression....His mom feels so guilty that she didn't notice it before...I'll ask her when he started showing symptoms and if it correlated with vaccine/environmental toxin exposure. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm learning to think in an entirely different way. , mom to and . Guest guest
Like maybe the flu shot? Or even a new filling added or replaced? Or maybe friends who play with mercury? (It's happening!)
