Guest guest
Because I write such ridiculously long posts, I thought I might put my question up here and then explain. Does anyone else use enemas regularly to help with constipation? Do you use something else besides the standard bag/tube contraption? I'm just wondering how safe it is, but of course being stopped up like a sausage and hernias aren't safe either LOL? Okay, most of us have tummy troubles of some sort, whether it be constipation or diarrhea or a combo of both (me, me, me). The constipation seems to be the most troublesome with me. I try to keep it regular with two equate lax/stool combos + two fiber laxatives twice a day. That is the only thing besides doing Milk of Magnesium shots (YUCK!) that gives me an semblance of regularity. Still the constipation rears it's ugly head a couple times a week. I've learned if not gone by the second day, I need to break out the big guns (Milk of mag, Suppositories/enema). Morning I'm really bloated it seems like a constant balancing act --- too much or too little. At first the thought of putting water up there seem really scary, and the first time I did an enema it did cause mass cramps, but I think that was because I used too much water and I hadn't gone in 4 days! It was stomach cramps, but boy howdy! Now it isn't bad at all because I use smaller amounts of warm water and don't wait 4 days. One night I was really miserable and I didn't have an enema bag. (I've looked at them, but honestly the whole thing is big and scary looking. It also looks like it is difficult to clean. ) I was really desperate, and the only thing I had was a Summers Eve Douche. I figured the well... okay. So I used Vaseline and first used the solution in the douche (could that have caused the cramps?) and then used warm water . I've been really bad this weekend (houseguests)... oh god! SO I used the little douche bottle again... I Cloroxed the bottle the last time I used it. This time... not really any cramps, and it helped me so much. Only a little straining in the end. Kelley/Okidoll kuselton@...
