Guest guest
Wow, I can't believe how fast time flies....seems like yesterday sometimes, that we went through the pressure sore incident and the " up-all-night " crying....the worry about Ciara not getting into the DBB when she was supposed to etc. She has been wearing the DBB 16hrs a day for about 6 weeks now and she is doing AWESOME!!! She pulled to stand a week ago and now does it constantly. She just turned nine months on Sat. She crawls so fast in the DBB that is amazes me. I was concerned though, that I was going to be getting up at night for the rest of my life..................ha ha ha because Ciara ALWAYS wakes up screaming. I say always, but really that has only been going on for a few months. Well we had our check up at Shriners and she got TWO shoes sizes larger for new shoes (the new straight last Markell) YAY and she ended up with a new bar because the one we had didn't have enough room to make it larger!?! <----waste of money for Shriners SO!! Her bar width was not equal to her shoulders and I asked if that was bad that she had that for awhile and the brace shop guy said no, but it would make it uncomfortable for her. I WOULD SAY SO!!! So since she has had her new shoes/bar for the last week and 4 days, she has slept through the night!!!! FINALLY!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAY!!!! Previously, when she would wake up crying or screaming loudly like she does, I would nurse her back to sleep because that was the only way to get her to go back to sleep and not scream! My husband works 60+ hrs a week and I hate for her to wake him with her crying. That is all in the past. Matter of fact, these new shoes are so great that I can't begin to tell you!! Thanks for the tips on how to put on the DBB Kori, because now that I have new shoes I " get it " when you talk about knotting the laces. Before I couldn't figure it out but that is because I had very small shoes and the laces were SHORT and I had to relace and unlace them all the way EVERY time!! Now that she is in a size 1 Markell, the laces are extra long and I can tie the knots as you describe and make it easier on myself. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I thank God everyday for Dr. Ponseti, Dr. Dobbs, and all of you for your continued support, educational information, and all the shoulders to lean on when I had problems. THANK YOU ALL!!
