EFT for Self BashingIt's common for us to discount all the things we're doing forourselves such as eating better, exercising a bit more, walking,enjoying other's company, and to put our attention only on the icecream we ate last night. "I shouldn't have eaten that! Why am I sostupid!" We seem to love bashing ourselves over the head with ourinadequacies. I'm not sure why so many of us do this, but it is socommon that we all could probably benefit from a quick EFT sessionto knock that off: "Even though I bash myself constantly over the head, I deeply andcompletely accept myself anyway.""Even though I'm not perfect and probably never will be, I deeplyand completely accept myself today and every day.""Even though I wish I knew all the answers, I'm willing to givemyself time to learn." "Even though I want this weight gone now, I deeply and completelyaccept myself and am willing to accept this day with thankfulness.""Even though I ate like a mad man last night at the party, I'mokay."We look in the mirror from day-to-day and want to see results now,but usually we only see the same old reflection staring right back.Sometimes we don't even notice the changes that are there to see,we're so busy focusing on our flaws and imperfections. You may turnand check your profile and that too seems the same, nothing seemsto be happening, no matter what you ate yesterday or the daybefore. This daily checking can make it easy to throw our hands upsaying, "What's the point? This isn't working. I want a doughnut,"and whoosh, right back to old habits we go.Commit to one day at a time you will get where you want to bewhether it's better health or a sleeker physique or both. Rememberthere's always One More Bite -- an hour from now, later today, andtomorrow there will always be another bite. If you remember thereis always One More Bite on its way, you'll not have to eat everylast bite right now. Like a timed release series of a flower blooming, if you watched inreal-time it would seem as if nothing was happening, but if you sawa time-released series taken over a 24 hour period and played in afew second's span, you'd see a rapid transformation from bud tobloom. Weight changes are like that only it may take weeks, months,even years in some cases, instead of a mere 24-hours to see thechanges and the complete transformation, yet change is happeningthe entire time.Self bashing and all those little annoyances throughout the day arewhat drive you to want to feel better by the time you get home fromwork, or after a long day of dealing with whatever you deal with(we all have to deal with something). It's those little things thatdrive you to want to eat something to feel better. You want tosooth your wounded soul and what better way than with food ordrink? Use EFT on your self bashing whenever you catch yourself, andslowly you'll begin to dissolve more and more bigger issues withouteven trying. It doesn't matter how long the road ahead, it's the step you taketoday that counts.
