Guest guest
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did and I am BONE tired tonight because of it! Yesterday started VERY early. Roy decided he wanted to go to Seattle to stand in line to buy Lion King tickets. He reminds me of this about 11 p.m. Friday night...that he wants to be IN Seattle at 4 a.m. We decided it would make more sense to be in Seattle about 5 a.m. We stood in line. I sang a song in front of a bunch of people and won a beanie from the play, we got 2nd row seats on the aisle, which is the BEST place to sit because during the presentation of Simba these huge puppets come up the aisles. The elephants are almost elephant size. Each leg has a man in it. It's incredible. We hightailed it from there to my marathon training group. I ran 8 miles while Roy waited. He's decided that he's going to run when I run on Saturdays, just go at lower mileage. The run felt good. We then hightailed it (again...felt like we were behind all weekend) to the Bite of Seattle. We met a friend, who was late...gosh I hate that. She's always late. We had lunch and then walked downtown to see a concert with the SEattle Symphony. Shore was guest conductor and the music was Lord of the Rings. It was phenomenal! Wow...Sissel was there (she sang Gollum's Song and other female vocals in Return of the King) and she has an amazing voice. After the play we jetted to Everett to meet Roy's sister for dinner. After that we went to the American Idol concert. What fun! On top of the talented ten from this season, Tamyra Gray was there. Man oh man was she good! She's even better than last year. In fact everyone has improved dramatically since the show except Camille. It's interesting. She's a sweet girl, but she's about 17 as are 3 other idols. She is the only one who acts like a young teen. The others are so mature. This morning Roy swapped so I was stuck at home with no car. I toyed with riding my bike to church, but couldn't figure out the logistics so I ended up ready for church, but no way to go. Roy got home and we headed out on a bike ride. Plan was we'd ride for half an hour or so and then go to the Y to swim. Instead I decided that I'd had enough swimming for the week and needed for exercise to just be fun. We took off on a ride and then headed home. Roy wanted Teriyaki, but the place he wanted to go to was closed so I said " Let's go into Smokey Point and get it. You like theirs. " He wasn't thrilled since it's the next town over, but we went. Ended up on a 23 mile bike ride and had a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. The only dark spot was when I was heading over some RR tracks and biffed it on the bike, again...left part of my knee of the pavement. Scared the patoobies out of me because I fell towards traffic. My tire got caught in a RR track. From now on I walk over RR tracks that aren't perpendicular to the road. Poor Roy was behind me and it took about ten years off his life. Fortunately we weren't far from a store. We turned around and he went in and got some better first aid supplies. I had bandaids...but that wasn't going to do the trick. On the way home we stopped off for a movie and saw " i Robot. " Excellent movie! Better than I thought it was going to be. Rode home and had a nice dinner together! Another wonderful summer weekend. Oh, and he gave me my anniversary card early. He's taking me whale watching on Tuesday! Only one more day of school then we're FINALLY out for the summer. So what did you all do this weekend? ~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~'~' Tory Klementsen, MCP A+ Career and Technology Educator www.teechur.com www.msteechur.com -The successful person will do the things that the unsuccessful person will not.
