Guest guest
Isn't the 3 days on 11 days off equivalent to every other weekend?? That is what we did. We chelated friday night/all day saturday/all day sunday and sunday night/monday a.m. and then did not chelate the next weekend, but did chelate the following weekend. I think I remember from reading the files that it is mainly important to give as many days " off " as you do " on " ... that's why some people use a 3 on 4 off schedule if they want to do more frequent chelation. It's not that the numbers are set in stone--you can figure out what works for you but just give as many days off as you do " on " . If you go shorter there seem to be problems, this was determined to be OK empirically. Shorter is not. Longer IS OK and some people do it, but many find the side effects grow as the chelation cycle continues. >and why 11 days off? It seems to work for most. Some people can do 3 on 4 off. Some need more recovery time. The mommies often need more recovery time too. > I plan to do every other weekend. > > I just did first cycle with my child at 8gm of ALA every three hours, > but unfortunately my child had yellow poop which I feel is yeast > flaring up, so I dont know whether we can do another cycle soon. > >

Shorter is not. What problems should I lookout for in case I end up doing a shorter ON phase? Thanks
Guest guest
I can speak from my experience so far. Longer cycles do seem to increase side effects. I would love to do longer cycles, but I think that will be later in chelation for us (me - Round 10; 4 year old - Round 6; 2 year old - Round 4) before we tolerate it. I like the 3 days on and 4 days off, but I am in a longer in between phase right now because of viral side effects and I am not sure if my kids are 100% at the moment. As for the waking at night, once your kids know that you are coming in their room every 4 hours at night to dose them, it is not that bad. If they don't open their mouth, I sit them up with their back toward me and kind of wake them up and say " just take the pill and go back to sleep. " I just have to take an extra nap here and there (but I do have some help so I can do that). As for the yeast, I give probiotics every AM and PM and Kombucha tea and other probiotic rich foods (I am working more and more in). I try to mix some kim chi into their ketchup. I give 1/2 a Candiase enzyme (or Candex) in the afternoon with either Olive Leaf Extract or Oil of Oregano, alternating, at lunch. The first couple rounds did create yeast, but I think that if you really go all out on the probiotics and anti-yeasts you can control it and then you will start seeing more darker colored poops with a yeasty one here or there. I think we are still in danger of having yeast crop up so I will not back down on the probiotics etc. for a long time. We also have alot of normal poops with diahrrea in between in an unpredictable pattern. This is not deterring me. Maureen
