Seeing Prof Bird at long last!

Hi everyone,

I just received a phone call from Prof. Birds secretary asking me if

I could attend an appointment - tomorrow morning! It is going to mean

a very early for me as the appointment is 9:15 and we have a fairly

long, busy drive down to Leeds to negotiate. But I have waited so

long and really need to see him urgently that I can't turn down the

opportunity.

I am feeling very nervous as so much is resting on the outcome of

this, but also really glad to finally be seeing him. Especially so

with my current bleeding issues too, at least he will get to see my

haematomas etc. I had a very scary incident on Monday evening when

the vessel in my wrist ruptured and was pumping blood everywhere for

quite some time. I now have a glorious deep purple lump from the palm

of my hand down my arm. I'm covered in bruises from all these

bleeders, I look like I've had a serious argument with gravity....and

lost! I'm just glad that the timing of this appointment will give me

the chance to show what is happening as I'm starting to think it is

more EDS related than a blood disorder.

I intend making a list of things I need to tell Prof Bird about and

ask him, but have to confess that my mind is still a little frazzled

right now as it's come as a big shock for me after so long waiting!

I'm sat here with my body aching, mind in hyperdrive and not knowing

whether I'm on my head or my heels - but at least I am making

progress at long last. I only pray that he can give me some answers,

options and maybe even some hope. I will let you know how things go

tomorrow as soon as I can.

Thanks again for all your support, kindness and understanding - it

means so much to me. I will try to catch up on posts as I can, but

please know that I am thinking of you all.

Love and hugs....Jo
