Will the school not administer the meds for you? Our school nurse gives them

when my son is at school, there are some forms you fill out (need a docs

signature for the Rx only) and then I write them a note telling them what

time that day to give the meds.

[ ] Very short ALA round-Andy?

My daughter has completed eight rounds of chelation with DMPS and I am

poised to begin adding ALA. The problem is that she goes to school on

Sunday and that does not leave me with a very long round of every three-four

hour dosing.

My thought is to begin DMPS 12.5 mg/ALA 12.5 mg at 2 pm Friday when she

comes home from school and then continue the 3/4 hour dosing until Sunday

morning at 8 am when she goes to school (42 hours) at which time I would

switch her to 25 mg DMPS on an eight hour dosing schedule for the remaining

day of her three day cycle as she returns from school at 4 pm (8 hours

later).

Is this adequate time (42 hours) for the ALA to do anything?

No. The school will not deliver the meds for me! But I am able to show up

at school and give them myself if need be. It's just that I really need to

conserve my energy now. I am chelating myself (and suffering from brain fog

a lot) and am also the mother of a son who is ASD and also chelating (his

school, thankfully DOES administer his meds for me).

I don't know what your schedule is but when my son was in school I

just went in to school, pulled him out of class, and gave him his

dose in the hallway. On Fridays they had a short day so I only had to

go once. Just a thought.
