Guest guest
For starters, your Dr isn't testing the right things. He needs to be looking at FreeT3 and FreeT4 which are unbound hormones. T3 and T4 are old tests, and they won't help you feel better at all. My first guess is that you should be on more Armour than you are. Not enuff is just as bad as too much. If you have hashi's antibodies, your dr needs to be treating symptoms, and not lab ranges. 60 mgs is prolly not enuff after 12 weeks. I don't think i've stayed on 60 mgs of Armour more than 4 weeks. And most importantly, what are your symptoms? SandyE~Houston Scasring myself now!! I am scaring myself now.Doctors office just called me.....I am on dessicated thyroid meds 60mgs.I switched from levothyroxine 125 mgs almost 12 weeks ago.My last bloodwork showed I do not have the right numbers just trying to remember that my TSH 2.5 my T3 an T4 were on the high side as was my free T4 and T3 .I just got a call that my TSH IS 99.44 range is .35-5.0 T3 is .71 range is .89-2.44 T4 is 29.6 range is 63-151 Trying to breathe right now because of panic. My doctor does not understand tthis med. at all.So I am asking you people for advice now. What is my next step.....What should I have him do???Going to see him later today....Betty

Guest guest
Most people go up 1/4 grain, but I always went up 1/2 grain. It works well for me. I know if I've got too much in my system, and since I no longer depend on a dr, I just go by how I feel. I used to never have problems with being cold until hypoHell. Unfortunately, many people who have RAI tend to have to do badly when not on a T4/T3 supplement, and most who have RAI end up needing armour. I think your dr definately doesn't realize that if he doses properly, by symptoms, that your hypo problems will dissapate. The minute my carpal tunnel flares up, and I start getting constipation, lethargic, brain fog, (shoulder pain is also one I do get), and my feet will even hurt, along with my ankles, then I up my dosage.
