Guest guest
Hi , I am currently expecting child no. 2 (#1 post-Open RNY), and I have gained 33 pounds so far. I have to go to the doctor every two weeks and at my last visit, which was this past Monday, I didn't gain anything from my last appointment. I think my weight gain my be leveling off. Also, I must add that I am measuring three weeks ahead of my due date and also the baby is measuring three weeks ahead. They are predicting him to weigh over 10 pounds at birth. My first child, pre-WLS, weighed 7lbs, 3 ounces. And to answer you question on the month-to-month gain, I think again it depends on each individual person. (Note also that my appetite increased when I became pregnant and has stayed that way....I " hear " it goes back to pre-pregnancy amounts once you give birth. I hope it's true! LOL) Hope this helps. I think it really depends on each individual persons body. I went into this pregnancy expecting not to gain weight, or very little and have been surprised, to say the least. I had my Open RNY on Feb. 19, 2002 and lost 140 pounds before becoming pregnant at 1 year post-op. Again, hope this helps...(I know, it's a little depressing! LOL) GOOD Luck! Guest guest
I know there is a million posts on weight gain and I have read them all, but need to hear from people. I am 18 months post op and 21 weeks pregnant and gained 20lbs. My appetite has double, if not tripled since I got pregnant. I can eat anything with no trouble and feel just like I did before I had my surgery. Is this normal or am I in real trouble here? Will my appetite change back after the baby? This is baby #1 for us. I would love to hear from anyone on the total weight gain as well. Thanks so much!
