Guest guest
Hi all, Because I'm a single mum, I have quite a bit of " just-in-case " insurance. A few days ago, I remembered that I had a " dread disease " rider on my cancer policy and when I reread the policy, lupus is one of the " dread diseases. " I called the insurance company today and they're sending me the claim forms. It's a lump sum payment. I could sure use the money to help with the times when my sick days are all used up and I'm too sick to go to work. I also need to have some rails or something installed for me to hold onto in the shower and other areas of my bathroom. I wonder how difficult it is, though, to get the money. My test results are radically different every time I have bloodwork, so is it even possible to prove definitively to an insurance company that one has Lupus? Since they CAN definitively show I have RA through the RF and swelling/bone changes, do you think the insurance company will blame RA for everything? (RA is not listed as a " dread disease. " Ha!) Just wondering if any of you had a similar insurance claim and if y'all think it's even possible to satisfy an insurance company's demands? I'm certainly going to file the claim, but I have no idea what to expect. -Anne
