Guest guest
I've been researching drug prices now that I'm officially elderly and forced to pay for my own drugs. (The joys of the Sunset Years.) Anyway, I've found that in England, you can get 500 mg of metformin for 10 to 25 cents a pill, depending on how many you get. If your state has the I-Save program that lets you order from abroad, you can order from England with a $15 shipping charge per order. But the AARP mail-order pharmacy has similar prices. I just ordered 180 pills for $18, no shipping charges. And for some reason, the extended-release pills are cheaper than the regular ones. Maybe they're also getting the most popular drugs from England. Or Bangladesh. And maybe the XR/ER are more popular than the regular ones. It's very confusing because prices seem to change fairly often. My local drugstore has a list price, a senior price, and various negotiated prices with various insurance companies and Discount Card holders, and it's difficult to find out what the prices are as they're not online.
