I am posting this message from one of our newbies, Clifton. She

didn't know how to send messages to the group, I have instructed her

already, but please feel free to comment back to her or answer questions

she's posting. Let's make her feel welcomed in our group.

Mojo

Oh My!

> Dear Mojo . . . I love reading what you post to others. Somehow I

> relate to you. It's the spunk I think.

> I got home from work Sunday evening and saw the notice of 's

> death. What a blow to everyone who knew her well and those of us who

> are new and realized the quality of her messages to everyone. There

> are some people whom people expect to go on forever because the giant

> spirit they possess inspires all who come in contact with it. I send my

> deepest sympathy to all of you as your mourn her loss. I felt this huge

> sadness even though I'm new. She touched everyone, even us " newies " .

> I'm in the second week after diagnosis and the full force of the

> thing is beginning to sink in and I'm feeling resentment and

> frustration. My second app't with the Rheumy is this coming Mon. He's

> from a middle eastern country, has a huge practice, and I'm not sure he

> relates well to women. Seems to be a man of few words. I'm a woman of

> many words so we may not do too well but I'll wait and see. He happens

> to be the closest Rheum but if I have to drive farther I'll do it. He

> put me on Plaquenil and said he wants to give me a jump-start

> prescription for prednisone. Hmmmmm! I'm wondering if I can tough it

> out with the more or less minor leg pains I have and do the prednisone

> later. I already have osteopena and I know prednisone does a number on

> bones. Don't know what to do;

> I have been taking Pilates and NIA (neuro intermuscular something or

> other). Pilates is done on the mat and is a good weight bearing

> exercise and NIA is done standing (you may know all this already). Of

> the two NIA is easier on my muscles but the Pilates is good for the

> bones and muscles (lengthens and strengthens they say). What I'm

> wondering is how hard to push myself with this. How do you manage

> exercise?

> Also I have a bead on a good massage therapist who is thorough and

> caring but expensive. I'm willing to sacrifice to do this if my health

> is at stake. Have you ever tried massage therapy?

> My appetite is funky too. Nothing sounds that good but I've always

> loved food and enjoyed eating and cooking but now if it's simple I do it

> and if it isn't I don't but sometimes even the simple things don't taste

> good. Wonder if this is the meds?

> I don't know how to post on the group yet. But I love the " digest "

> form of messages you set up for me.

> Thanks for being there. Love, C.
