They are planning on only a lumpectomy next friday. They are taking nodes to test as well. We just have to wait until they do the surgery to know for sure, i.e. nodes, margins and such. Three weeks recuperation and then radiation. I feel if it was me (and our situations reversed) with our family history (not a good one) I would opt for a mastectomy. I'm praying all goes well and the lumpectomy takes care of the cancer. I'd like to ask for prayers next week for lie. Thanks for always listening. Angel (A.K.A. Mari) mfgershman@... Guest guest
Angel - No chemo recommended for an invasive finding? Maybe that will depend on node involvement, etc. I have Stage I invasive (Grade 3 invasive) and got a lumpectomy plus chemo plus radiaiton. I was given the choice of a total mastectomy and, after the research, in my specific case, I had the same chance of recurrance with a lumpectomy as I did with a total mastectomy. Keep us posted. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Roe just called on her way home from the onc. The path report stated large, clear margins, no node involvement. She'll have radiation for awhile. The onc told her it's good she didn't put it off at all, it was an extremely aggressive cancer. I'd like to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers --- they work! Love and prayers for all of you from us. -- Angel (A.K.A. Mari) mfgershman@...
