RE: Ovarian Cysts:

I have been dealing w/ Ovarian Cysts as well and like you, was alarmed

when I learned I had them. While I'm no expert on cysts, from what I

have read and been told by my Doctors, ovarian cysts are quite common

and they typically will simply run their course: they may or may not

burst over time, or they may simply be re-absorbed into your system.

I've had one large one that was rather painful throughout my entire

cycle two months ago. During my current cycle however, I don't even

feel it. I actually believe it's gone now, b/c it didn't show up in a

recent ultrasound. I had another cyst that burst because the fluid was

evident in my cavity in pictures taken in a recent Laparoscopy. All in

all, I'm not overly concerned about them. ... And you are correct that

the risk of cancer is quite low. I'd say keep monitoring it, but don't

get stressed out about it. They can appear overnight and go away just

as fast according to Dr. Lee in his book " What your Doctor may not

tell you about Premonopause. " He maintains they result from higher

levels of unopposed Estrogen. I've learned a lot from that book, you

may consider reading it. He's a big proponent of natural progesterone

to balance your hormones, which would help eliminate cysts.

Not Fibroids but Ovarian Cysts

My doctor initially told me that I had uterine fibroids but after the

ultrasound results she called me and told me that I have 2 large

ovarian cysts. As if I wasn't scared enough with the fibroids, now I

am more scared since there is a chance of cancer (althought slight).

The doctor said that they won't know until they remove it and send it

to pathology. I am going in for a blood test CA-125 on Thursday.

Have any of you ladies had a similar situation ?
