Guest guest Posted December 16, 2002 Report Share Posted December 16, 2002 Hi To All, Apparently the Dr jumped the gun yesterday, because when the new rotating attending in the PICU came around today, not only did he stress to Liz just how sick B is, that he was not out of the woods yet, he also said that he could be on the vent until Christmas or later. Yesterday B's left leg, which had an arterial line in the groin, got very cold, so they pulled the line. The pulse in that leg is very weak, and it is still colder than the right leg. This has them worried. They tried to replace the arterial line elsewhere, but even with paralyzing and sedating him, they were unsuccessful. Liz said that they will be keeping B sedated and possibly paralyzed for an extended period of time. Sorry to all that the news can't be better.
