Guest guest
I realize that this may be a stupid question. I have had AF for ~1 year and just found this support group so I do not know very much about AF. It sounds like ablation surgeries are often successful. It makes me wonder why not everyone tries it. Are they risky? Do they only work for a short amount of time? Can they cause further damage? Do they limit your future options? Are they still experimental? Is there something better coming along? I know these are very broad questions. I would really appreciate any insight you can offer though. I am 36 years old and this AF business is significantly altering my previously active lifestyle. I was born with a bad heart, but I have never had symptoms that were so impact to my daily life until I developed AF. Is it unreasonable to expect that I can get rid of AF completely? Thank you!
