Guest guest
Hi, folks. I am now 2 weeks post-op from the left hip resurf. I have very little pain, mostly some incision sensitivity and a bit of a deep bruise in the butt muscle. I'm walking on crutches, but usually use only one crutch when I'm home. Two when I'm out on the town. I cannot get over the lack of pain in my left hip joint. It's a total miracle. The only glitch I've had so far is an acute reaction to morphine. Whew! Panic attacks that felt like the hounds of hell were tailgaiting me so closely I could feel their hot breath. Thank God that seems to be over. My question is (and I know there is probably lots of archival info): what sort of abilities can I expect at 2 weeks and then 3 weeks? I do NOT want to over-do things, but I don't want to let time go by while I might be gaining strength in my left leg. What's reasonable to expect? I tend to automatically " favor " my left leg and remind myself to actually put weight on it. Maybe 75%? I am so very grateful to have this ordeal behind me and to be on the mend. I intend to have this sucker last longer than my life span!! And I plan to live to be an eccentric old woman!
