Guest guest
I have a doctor who tells me to never ever take activated charcoal. She says " carbon 14 - yikes! " Well I am just coming through a stage of about 9 months where I have had death-defying internal " seizures " and the charcoal was one thing I could take to help a little. I would also take some baking soda to help neutralize things. Since I am now just starting to add the ALA and I am feeling great mental disturbances in general, I am wondering: 1) Will the charcoal counteract the ALA (or DMSA) ? 2) Is charcoal indeed safe to take or very, very bad? I am nw to this site as of last night. Any input from anyone appreciated. ~Inga on 9/23/04 9:21 AM, Mark La Rue at mnlarue@... wrote: I totally forgot about activated charcoal....THANKS!!!! --- Dagmar <dagmarjahr@...> wrote: > I had my amalgams removed without all the > precautions. Guest guest
> 1) Will the charcoal counteract the ALA (or DMSA) ? It generally absorbs everything, so if you give it within about an hour of other supplements, you might be wasting the other supplements. If you have yeast die off symptoms tho, you can give it about 30-45 minutes after your yeast killer, then it will absorb the toxins. I would not want to give it long term, but for the occasional problem situation, it is probably okay. I have never used it tho, because my son does not have die off problems with yeast. Guest guest
I know activated charcoal absorbs and that is exactly why I take it. However, my question is does it specifically absorb ALA? And if so, for how long after ingesting the charcoal? ....and will it absorb it all if I wait an hour after tking the ALA? ~Inga ___________on 9/23/04 7:51 PM, danasview at danasview@... wrote: > 1) Will the charcoal counteract the ALA (or DMSA) ? Guest guest
I do occasionally use activated charcoal. I don't think I would use it on a regular basis, because I believe it would deplete all my nutrients. I think it might counteract ALA and DMSA and would not risk using it at the same time. I don't know if it *specificially* absorbs ALA, but I do know that it absorbs almost everything, so I would guess that yes, it does absorb ALA. > And if so, for how long after ingesting the charcoal? > ...and will it absorb it all if I wait an hour after tking the ALA? I have read that you should wait about 1-1/2 hours, but I don't know how accurate that is. Dana
