Guest guest
Hi Mike, I am sorry that I haven't gotten back to you on your earlier post to me... I have just not had the time and energy to sit down and read properly throught it using a anatomy book to figure out properly what you are talking about. But just short. You said something that the symptoms I have in my arms when some vertebrae probably sublux between my shoulder blades. I have no clue about this, the only thing I know, is that one time when I had this, I was visiting my OT friend. She looked at where it was, and then said it made a lot of sense, because of so-so nerve being compressed. She then found it in an anatomy book and showed me... But as I said, I really don't know anything about this, just that I get some really awful pain attacks when it happens, with pressure, heavyness, weakness etc. down both my arms. But of course, maybe what is happening is what you mentioned as a possible cause (that what happened there caused something else which in it's turn caused the symptoms), is just what is happening. No matter what is really going on when it happens, there is no doubt that it sure sets of some kind of excruciating nerve pain. I have also had the exact same thing happen with my legs, when something happens in my lower back. The other arm stuff I have, is slightly different though, but it might be much the same, just that it is not that severe, which makes me notice more of what is really going on (did that make sense? What I mean is that when the pain gets so terrible, that is what I notice. If there is numbness, tingling etc. then, I am sure not noticing it). Anyway, if it is the same thing, just that it's origin is further up, I am not sure. I'll hear back from the rare disorder center re. going for MRI's, X-rays etc. later this week... I have been very happy that I have been able to calm my neck down a lot this week where I have had time off work. It has been wonderful. Yesterday I was out for around 2 hours in my power chair with my dog, and drove a bit off the asphalt path, and then it acted up again. So I guess I have to be careful, and hopefully whatever it is that is going on, can calm down for now... Oh yes... I am very used to crepitus, and know that there can be a lot of noise without anything going on which means something. What makes me more skeptic here, is the pain that is associated with it. Also that when I have the loudest noises, the neck often locks up and it gets very painful, then it sets off the migraines etc. So something is obviously going on, whatever it is. Anyway, it would be wonderful if it is possible to shed any light on what is going on - or what is NOT going on. As I see it, it is just so much easier to handle then, when you know what you are dealing with. Oh yes... I went online and looked for that stick you were talking about. Was it thera stick it was called? I did bookmark it... I found lots of them on eBay too, and they were quite reasonable there. It looks like a really neat thing, and surely something that I would enjoy a lot... Just to be able to rub a sore spot when it is acting up, sure is good. I have used many creative ways of doing just that over the years, but e.g. a doorway isn't exactly nice, with it's sharp edges etc... Thanks a lot for being so helpful!!! It is wonderful how you assist so many!!!! Oh well, it is getting late here, and my back is killing me... I overdid it doing housework tonight... So now it will be wonderful to go to bed and give that back some rest... That is one of the things that annoys me with not being able to lay down because of the SI-joints, I feel that my back is not getting the proper rest it needs... Nothing is like laying flat for the back... But half sitting is at least better than sitting straight up... Sincerly, Aase Marit
