Hi Serap -

I'll leave the official welcoming up to our moderators but as a fellow

Western Pennsylvanian wanted to let you know there is at least one more in

this great group! I live out in Irwin.

Have you been in touch with the Lupus Foundation of PA yet? The offices are

over by Station Square and they have available a lot of materials as well as

people you can talk with. We have a web site you might want to check out at

http://www.lupuspa.org/

They are also sponsoring an educational seminar which will be held out in

Greensburg on May 8.... Basic information is below:

Taking Charge of Lupus

Education Seminar

Saturday, May 8, 2004

Four Points Sheraton - Greensburg, PA (the website has a typo - it says

Cranberry but Greensburg is the correct location)

The keynote speaker is award-winning journalist and author Maureen Pratt who

herself is diagnosed with lupus. Other speakers are rheumatologist and

co-director of the Lupus Center of Excellence Manzi M.D., MPH,

orthopedic surgeon Haus M.D. and movement educator Alicja Walczak.

There is a charge ($15 for members, $20 for non-members - which includes a

morning snack as well as lunch) for the program, and registration is

required. For additional information call Barbara Hastings at

1-.
