Should the shoes stay or go?

I just e-mailed Dr. Herzenberg to ask him to clarify his recommendations

about when to discontinue the FAB. We had a checkup a month before Zoe's

third birthday in March. At that time, he said if she wasn't tolerating the

FAB or if the size 8 shoes became too small, we could stop using it and to

come back in 6 MONTHS! I've asked if we could come back sooner...

Well, my husband is ready to pitch the FAB. I've been holding on for dear

life. (I made the mistake of telling him that she should probably wear them

until she's four...

Zoe's sleeping habits lately are taking a toll on all of us. She has a hard

time getting to sleep then wakes a few times a night. She gave up naps

awhile ago and gets a lot of physical exercise, so she usually sleeps like a

stone. The shoes are too small and I'm afraid the 14 " bar is probably too

small as well. I can still wedge her shoulders between the heels, but it's

definitely cramping her shoulders. I'm assuming when we receive the size 9

prototypes from Markell, they will make the space between the heels even

smaller...

As I mentioned before, Zoe is a large 3 year old. Her regular shoe size is 9

and her clothing size is 5/6. She is 36 pounds and 42 inches standing. She

is one of those kids who has some " sensory issues " , so she is very

sensitive.

Anyway, what would you do if you were me?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Joanne W. mom to Zoe (3-25-01, right clubfoot)

PS I would DEFINITELY not discontinue using the FAB before 3 years

old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
