Sun question..

As many of you know, my Dad has Lupus too. He insists that he read

(a couple of years ago) some research that showed that the sun really

is not a trigger for Lupus. I, of course, do not agree with him and

get sick EVERYTIME I'm out for very long. He had worn sunscreen for

a long time. (He has had a DX for 32 years.) But now refuses to

wear sunscreen, hats, long sleeves, etc. Does anyone know of this

research that he is talking about or better yet - somewhere where

they proved this particular study to be wrong? Since he's stopped

wearing sunscreen, he's had two more heart attacks, his discoid is

much worse and his kidneys are passing more protein...but I can't

tell him anything!!! Is stubbornness a symptom too? We all seem to

suffer from it! LOL Anyway, any help would be appreciated!

Lupus is triggered by UV rays. Since the sun produces them, the sun

causes lupus triggers. Whatever your dad read is wrong.
