We are in day 4 of REALLY bad poop. I changed 5 diapers last night between

10:00 pm and 6:00am....Poor guy is very uncomfortable.

This started over the weekend and I thought it might be a delayed gluten

infringement response to something he ate on Friday. In addition, at that

time he had very red cheeks and was generally itchy all over. Also very tense

with lots of grimacing and squeezing of hands and pinching. So, since Sunday

I have really restricted his diet to food I know for sure he doesn't react

to. I also stopped giving him SerenAid, in case he was developing an allergy

to the Asparillagus. I also stopped Epsom Salt baths so that he wouldn't be

drinking any and making it worse. No change.

By today...4 days into this " adventure " it's getting worse not better. To me

that seems to indicate that IF it's an allergic reaction, it a new one and

it's to something very basic like corn, rice or soy (he hasn't had problems

with these before). I sure hope not.

Today we'll go to the Ped.s office where, I predict , I will be treated like

an idiot and told how to " treat upset tummies " with a BRAT diet etc. They

just don't seem willing to break out of the 'we're the experts and you're

not' roles. The fact that I've successfully raised two older children, have a

doctorate degree in a related field and am simply more experience in living

with children than most of them just doesn't seem to register. Arrrghhh!!!

My hope is that I will be able to persuade them to refer us to either an

allergist or a gastroenterologist. I never went to the Ped w/digestive

problem before because I could manage them without seeing a Dr. and that has

been a problem because we don't have a charted history of problems. I guess

I'll have to bombard them with every little symptom to get it in the chart.

If anyone has any opinions of what might really be going on I'd really

appreciate your thoughts. I've got to do something to stop this before he

starts to dehydrate.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
