Guest guest
, Could you tell us how you found out your son has congenital CMV. Other than a hearing loss, are there other reasons that came to this conclusion? Currently I see no other issues in my son, he is 19 months old, and seems to be developing in all other areas. I wonder now that I read that article about congenital CMV, if that is what caused my son's hearing loss. The article says that the diagnosis needs to be made in the first couple weeks of life, have you found that to be true? The reason I think it might be true is because I have worked around infant and preschool age kids for the last 12 years.... When I take a skin TB test I come up positive too, I must take a chest xray now to show I do not have TB. I got sometime int he 2 years I worked at my first preschool. When I started, I had negative TB skin test and at some point the Director and I had to be tested again and both of us got a positive skin test. Can I test myself to see if I am a carrier for congenital CMV ? Is that possible? If you have any information that might be helpful, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
