Guest guest
Do any of your kids use a language facilitator in middle school? I have run in to another issue with middle school placement. Seems if Jake does qualify for the HI program he cannot have a langauge facilitator. He can have an oral interpreter or CS transliterator but not a LF. Still can't really understand what they were saying the reason is. I am sure the SPED administrator is getting tired of me...LOL The reason we want to keep his CST as a LF is because the neuro and the audi say he definately needs someone to be there to cue but also to help him with getting behind the class and such. He has been diagnosed with static encephalopathy with complex neurobehavioral issues. I think this is a fancy way of saying he has auditory neuropathy, ADDH-inattentive, language processing and maybe auditory processing issues, plus has OCD. He is very bright but does get lost. I have been calling him superbowl boy because he is on a 5 second delay. LOL It took him 2.5 hours to take the math test last week, It took the other kids 35-45 minutes. He passed it and is on grade level but takes him so much longer to think things through. Thanks, Elaine
