I finally got my lab results from a few weeks ago (they lost them!!) ... a bit of background, in June my TSH was 2.91 and the endo I went to see grudgingly put me on Levoxyl. I then found a doc who 'gets it' and ordered a lot of tests that the endo wouldn't and here they are:

TSH - 1.71 (after 5 weeks on 50 micrograms levoxyl)

T4 total - 6.2 (4.5-12.5)

T Uptake - 38.4% (22-37%), compared to 38.5% 5 weeks previous

Free/direct T4 - 1.1 (0.8-1.8)

FTI - 8 ug/dl (5-12)

T3 Total - 79 (60-181)

T3 Free - 2.7 (2.3-4.2)

Cortisol - 13.9 (7-25) - fasting blood level at 8am

TPO Ab I <10 (0-34)

Thryoglobulin Antibody titer <20 (0-40)

My interpretation is that the 50 micrograms of levoxyl is helping but I'm not yet in therapeutic range so the dose should be increased and/or start Armour (which I'v asked to try but haven't talked to the doc yet about what to do from here). The other results seem to be in the "low normal" range which should improve as my dosage is increased, right?

What does it mean that my uptake is high?

Also, since apparently it's not Hashimoto's based on my antibody results, what else could be causing my thyroid dysfunction? Should I just chalk it up to years of yo-yo hormones from my repeated miscarriages or is there further testing we should do? I don't have any enlargement in my neck or anything like that...

Thanks so much for your help!

Mikki
