Guest guest
Wow, guys, this IS an interesting thread. Of course I've had an array of different reactions to my own weight loss, but your posts have caused me to reflect more on the Why of it. One thing that interests me is my own reaction to the reactions of others. I've gotten to the point where, if I'm meeting someone I haven't seen in 97 pounds and they completely ignore that I'm now a new person, I actually now view it as amusing! I mean, come on....I'm now carrying a whole Reagan LESS on my body! LOL! There is no way on earth it's not noticeable, unless these people have a vision problem! But instead of it bothering me, like it did earlier in this journey, now I just chuckle to myself, because I KNOW how much better I look. And because I now know that I don't, and won't, base my inner feelings on how others react to me. !! The other side of the coin, and of course the one that warms my heart is when I run into someone I haven't seen in months (in many pounds--I'm counting time by the pound now!), and they sincerely say in a happy and surprising tone, " WOW, Bette, you look GOOD! " (very big grin) It does really feel good to hear that sometimes! Bette
