Guest guest
Both my kids have yeast and bacteria issues. Ethan was the one who was not NT and though he appears to be NT to most all now (we did do some dmsa chelation and he improved on that--he was sensory dysfunctional for his main diagnosis), he still has ongoing yeast/bacteria issues. His little sister, who was not vaxed as much, has them, too. Everyone gets exposed to some heavy metals, whether they are vaxed or not, and it could just have been " enough " to have set her immune system awry, leading to the yeast problem. Or, it could be a virus she picked up. Don't really know. But, just wanted to say that you can have kids who appear very NT, but still have major immune/yeast, etc. issues. So don't worry too much, but do be thankful that you spotted it, and you can work on helping her, too. Could be that the breastmilk was providing something that she needed immune-wise that was keeping things " in check " . Guest guest
Can you start nursing again? I've heard that kids tend to regress once weaned -- I'm still nursing my 20 mo old NT daughter and might until college :-) Debi > Imagine my horror when, a couple of weeks ago, just a few weeks after > she stopped night nursing, she suddenly developed very mushy poop. Guest guest
yeast is not just a sign of autism, it is a cause of autism. Get in quickly and minimise any damage. Be thankful that you have the knowledge you do and you can pick up problems at this early stage instead of having to wait until her behavior becomes obviously autistic. Give her watered-down yoghurt instead of milk. Better still, make your own yoghurt out of raw goats milk, SCD-style. Add colostrum to the milk and give probiotics. You may also want to add EFAs and some kind of multi. Since you have gotten in so early, that will probably be enough, but test just to be safe good luck Steve
Guest guest
I have a 3 yo son, autistic, and a 21 mo daughter NT. She also started developping " poop issues " a few months ago. I had her tested because I could not get rid of it and she had yeast+bacteria+patogen! And I just realized with your message that it also started when she started sleeping through the night! There are so many good things in breast milk that it is hard to tell, but it could be the good bacteria (probiotics) in it that helps. I am still nursing her during the day. I also supplement zinc, selenium, omega 3, probiotics and a multi vit. I did a hair test and she is mercury toxic too, less than my son but still.. Get a hair test and treat her yeast. > My 5yo son is definitely aspie, and has been literally from birth. > Chelation is helping him but he has a long way still to go. Guest guest
, Is it possible to get your milk flowing again? I would try. My five year old had the same problem. What a terrible time I had. I did chelate him as well. Started w/ Dmsa alone and added ALA after a few rounds. I put the meds in frozen grape juice. nne > > My 5yo son is definitely aspie, and has been literally from birth. > > Chelation is helping him but he has a long way still to go. Guest guest
nne, I'm pretty sure you can get your milk flowing again, because I know some moms' that adopted children and nursed them also. From what I remember you have to start pumping. Check with LeLache Leage, I'm sure they would help you and would not be surprised that breast milk keeps autism at bay. In fact my 2 yr olds behavours started after I weaned him at 18 mos. First indicator looking back was the loose stools too. Guest guest
Just my experience, but I weaned my son about the age of 2 after he started his regression because I felt so taken advantage of. I was part of his obsessive play at the time. He went from one thing to another in a specific order and then to me to nurse for about 5 seconds. So I don't think nursing necessarily protects children from autism. I nursed my other son until he was almost three so, I am all for nursing. H.
