Hi, - If you have had no CT scans, and have followed the LID, there's no reason to think that you will have systemic iodine competing with the RAI. I'd say that the urine test is overkill, and in general it's not done (even, alas, when it SHOULD be). OTOH, it's not invasive, and if it will make you feel more confident in your upcoming treatment, I don't see any reason not to do it.
