Niki,

I have had low blood pressure as well throughout my entire pregnancy. If I

knew what to do to raise it, I would let you know. I have no idea. I never

knew that low blood pressure could cause the baby not to receive proper

nutrients. I do go to a perinatologist (high-risk OB) because I am considered

to be

of advanced maternal age. I have had so many ultra-sounds by now that it is

unbelievable. Every time they do an ultra-sound, they tell me everything looks

great.

Your blood pressure is somewhat lower than mine. If you OB is concerned,

maybe he/she could send you to a perinatologist to be watched.

Good luck,

Niki,

I also run a fairly low blood pressure. I was at one point running,

around 85/50 (give or take) pretty consistently. I would get dizzy

spells as well. He recommended that I start increasing my salt

intake. Eating one salty pretzel is not going to up your blood

pressure in one day. Now I run a little higher, 95-100/55-65

depending on the day. I wouldn't increase your salt intake without

talking to your doctor first, but maybe mention it to him and see

what he thinks. It worked for me!

I have had the same my entire pregnancy. The lowest it got was

84/50. Unfortunately, there's not too much to do about it, but I try

to eat some more salty foods like pickles and soups (typically canned

soups are very high in sodium). I have had dizziness and actual

passing out too. My OB was not worried about it. When I had to go

on meds for preterm labor they had a cardiologist monitoring me

constitantly, but other than that it doesn't cause any problems.

Good luck!
